The story and the team

About us

We don't sell a theory. We've been door-to-door hunters, we've lived the paid-advertising gold rush, and in 2024 we closed with our own hands the product line that had made us grow, because it stopped converting. Relational Engineering is the solution to a problem we suffered first.

  • First VAT registration in 1998, under the stairs at home
  • Over 1,600 apps built since 2015
  • Monthly column on Economy, the official insert of Il Sole 24 Ore

The why, in his own words

"Thanks to the most advanced technology, I put people back at the centre of business, turning networks of contacts into strategic connections. I no longer see companies and individuals as isolated entities, but as nodes in a powerful, interconnected web of relationships."

Oscar Dalvit, founder. It's the answer he arrived at following Simon Sinek's method, and it came before the product that makes it real.

The root

The hunter and the farmer were the same person

Segnalazione Vincente's whole message is the shift from hunting to farming. Forty years before it became a positioning statement, it was the founder's father's trade — both at once.

Three hectares of orchard, and everything else

Oscar's father ran, in order: a hotel, two fuel stations, a nightclub, and in his last years he made music with his wife. Through all that time he never stopped being a farmer, growing Marlene apples in the Adige valley, three hectares of sharecropped orchard. He dies when Oscar is twelve.

The business that hunts and the orchard that's tended and pays off over the years: they're the two halves of the same man, and they're the two halves of what we tell companies today. Hunting isn't abandoned — it's paired with sowing.

The second seed, just as literal

In Salorno, a town of three thousand souls, Oscar attends the youth association Solis Urna: forty kids who spend their weekends building things — a local newsletter and a real newscast, with a real director. The president, Sandro Appoloni, an accountant, is for him "in some ways a second father".

"That was certainly the seed that made grow in me the urge to build relationships with different people, to be curious and to understand how, even before the internet, to have a network of relationships."

The kid who made a newscast at a youth association is the same one who today produces TG29 for the BIG BANG launch.

It isn't a copywriting metaphor. It's family history.

The three phases

We did all three trades, and we watched each of them end

A supplier selling the end of the hunt should have practised it. We practised it for twenty-five years, in three different forms.

  1. 01 1998 – 2013

The first success, and how it really ended

First VAT registration in 1998, at twenty, under the stairs at home in Salorno: a site for selling video games. Hardstore reaches eight million in revenue with fifteen employees by 2008. Then, from 2010, three blows together: Amazon arrives, the crisis arrives, and San Marino's black list arrives, where the company was based. "Within 3 years everything gets wiped out, and I have to start over from scratch."

  2. 02 2015 – 2020

    The hunters' period

Migastone brings a loyalty-app platform to Italy: over 1,600 apps sold thanks to a network of hunters who stopped shopkeepers on the street. They were hunters, not Connectors: they chased. "Out of every 100 hunters, 10 were good" — tickets of two or three thousand euros, commissions in the low hundreds, "too little for an experienced agent." And the paid campaigns didn't work: active demand didn't exist.

  3. 03 2020 – 2024

The gold rush, and its end

An academy that teaches app-building, Facebook campaigns. "I put in 15,000 euros and sell 80,000." Three years of over €500,000 in revenue on just over €100,000 of investment. Then the decline: the leads still came in, but they converted less every year, with more competitors every year.

"The leads kept coming in by the shovelful, but every year it got worse, conversions got harder and harder, more and more competitors. In 2024 we closed the product line, it wasn't converting any more. I think this has happened to a lot of entrepreneurs like me, and it'll keep getting worse for the future."

Not "advertising costs a lot." A product line that worked, closed by the people who built it. That's why this company stopped selling apps and started selling a discipline.

2021 — the exact moment

Nobody could answer. And that was the problem.

The question asked to their own suppliers

For a year they'd been working with real-estate agencies on the process that brings in referrals for property sellers. Oscar asks his suppliers how they handle them: how many they've received, who refers them, how.

"Nobody could give me a precise answer, quite the opposite. That's the exact moment I understood a problem existed."

Now you answer

How many referrals has your company received in the last thirty days? Who brought them to you? And how?

Almost no company can answer with a number. It can say exactly how much it spent on advertising, how many quotes it made, how much it converted. On the channel everyone claims is the best there's no measure, no owner and no process.

2025

The year we sold zero for six months

We're writing it because it happened, and because what came after doesn't make sense without it.

The blow

The sales director leaves. For a company with half a million in revenue it's a heavy blow, and the consequence was exactly what you'd expect: six months of zero sales.

Those six months went into two things only: building MigaMATCH and rebuilding the sales team. It isn't a strategic choice told after the fact — it was the only thing that could be done while nothing was coming in.

The restart, and the real proportion

Today we work 70% advertising and 30% relationships, with automation and AI supporting the sales force: call analysis, reports that guide it, a CRM that says which contacts are hot. And the Connector Network as a bridge to the client.

To anyone starting out we recommend 80/20, which is the threshold where the compound effect starts to show. The two proportions don't contradict each other: we're further along because we started earlier.

"RECIPROCITY was fundamental, an ingredient I didn't know before. Putting 'you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours' on the table with our partners was a game changer."

The timeline

The dates that matter

No step was planned on paper: each grows out of the previous one's limit. It's the story of a discovery, not an industrial plan.

From the first site under the stairs to the discipline
Year What happens
1998 First VAT registration, at twenty, under the stairs at home in Salorno.
2008 Hardstore reaches 8 million in revenue with fifteen employees.
2010 – 2013 Amazon, the crisis and San Marino's black list: everything wiped out.
2015 Migastone is born: 1,600 clients, partner of Confcommercio, CNA and Confesercenti.
2018 App Selling comes out, an Amazon best-seller. Simone Rossi, RE/MAX Top Producer, reads it.
December 2019 Oscar meets Simone Rossi, who commissions "a very particular APP" from him. Simone managed a thousand Connectors tracked on paper, pen and an Excel sheet, built over three years at a pace of two or three a week.
9 March 2020 Launch of Acquisizione Vincente ("Winning Acquisition") and the first APP PRM for real-estate agencies, developed with Simone Rossi. It's the day of the Italian lockdown. It works.
2021 Segnalazione Vincente is born, for every type of business. It's the year of the question to suppliers that nobody could answer.
2022 Le Fonti Awards, Rising Star award.
2024 The Relational Engineering discipline is born: the software alone wasn't enough, "it takes deep engagement from the company's fabric, from its top figures." That's why the kickoff day and the handbook exist.
2025 The sales director leaves; six months at zero; the restart.

Why San Marino

Because Oscar has been here since 2001: his relational network and the banks that back him are here, and the 2010 black list shows he's also paid a price in this territory, and stayed. Because after the 2015 Italy–San Marino agreement, the tax treatment is clear and correct. And because half an hour's drive away is Romagna, the Italian region that turned networks of relationships into an economic model exported worldwide. It isn't a geographic detail: it's coherence.

Where you'll find us in writing

Economy, the official insert of Il Sole 24 Ore, carries two pages of column on Relational Engineering every month. It isn't a mention received once: it's an editorial partnership, and it's proof the category exists even outside the site selling it.

Oscar has brought the discipline to the stage of TEDx Tursi — "Ingegneria Relazionale: la vera rinascenza parte da una stretta di mano" ("Relational Engineering: the true rebirth starts from a handshake") — and is the author of the Amazon best-sellers Segnalazione Vincente and App Selling. The book Ingegneria Relazionale ("Relational Engineering") is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The credentials in order

Migastone International is a certified SUT1 San Marino Innovation company and has been covered by Forbes, Millionaire and Economy.

The client portfolio counts over 100 companies in the real-estate sector — agencies and brokers — and 144 businesses in other sectors. It's a figure stated by the company: the named list isn't publishable today, and until it is, this number remains what it is, a statement and not proof.

The evidence, counted one by one and verifiable by a third party, lives elsewhere.

The ecosystem

Four names, and who does what

  • Migastone International

The company that runs the whole ecosystem. Based in Borgo Maggiore, Republic of San Marino, and the one that signs the contracts.

  • Segnalazione Vincente

Solves the client-acquisition problem by creating a new channel, based on relationships. It's Relational Engineering applied to business.

  • Connector Network

Intercepts opportunity connectors — consultants, agents, accountants, lawyers — who embrace the motto "stop chasing clients, get introduced to them" and want to work with structured companies: the Dispari.

  • MigaMATCH

The tool that brings Connectors and companies together, and secondarily Connectors with each other. "It uses AIRA©'s engineering so no time is wasted sitting down with the wrong people."

The team

Ten people, and how we choose them

We favour field experience over academic titles. It's what lets us truly understand a business owner's problems, instead of explaining them back.

Who we turn away

Who we don't take on, and why we say so upfront

Every analysis we do costs real consulting time. We'd rather tell you now, for free, than at the end of a call.

We turn away hunters

"We turn away hunters. People who think this world is individualistic, that collaboration doesn't exist and that everyone's out to cheat you."

It isn't a moral judgement, and it's the most practical reason there is: a system built on reciprocity doesn't work with that premise. Whoever sits at the table convinced the other side is cheating doesn't deposit the first debt of reciprocity, and without that first step — the Law of the Dispari — nothing starts.

We also turn away anyone looking for a list of names to call tomorrow morning. That product exists, someone else sells it, and it costs less.

The admission test, in two questions

  • Have you ever closed a deal through a referral?
  • Is your business referable?

If a sector can't answer, it's not ours. The example Oscar gives when asked is a funeral home: nobody introduces a friend to a funeral home, and no method can change that.

It works in B2B, which is our preference, and in B2C with tickets from €500 up: real estate, car dealerships, water-purification systems, telecoms, electricity and gas — where the annual total justifies the cost of a referral. Because a referral costs the person making it attention, and it has to be repaid.

Under ten people? We don't send you away: the right path starts with MigaMATCH, where you get introduced to people in your target without first having to build a structure you don't have yet.

The next step

You don't need to talk to us yet

The AIRA-SCAN check-up measures the distance between where you are and where you could be across the four areas that matter. No sector benchmark and no projection: just your gap, and which wound is worth starting from.

Prefer to just talk it through? The number is 0549 888808, and it's answered by someone you've just seen face to face.
